Tutorial: The XA-Gel Method
(Standardizing your Lab with Molecular Inocultation)

Introduction: Welcome to the next level of culture media. XA-Gel isn't just agar; it's a synergistic bio-matrix. Whether you are a "Bundu Tek" pioneer or a lab professional, XA-Gel solves the three biggest headaches in mycology: drying plates, brittle transfers, and the need for messy blenders for Liquid Inoculants (LI).

Step 1: The Golden Ratios
To get the most out of your XA-Gel premix, you need to match your dosage to your goal.

* For Instant LI (Shakable Slants): 10g per Liter.
* For Invertible Petri Dishes (Standard): 13g per Liter.
* For High-Density "Black Pearl" Spawn: 6g per Liter (added to your nutrient slurry).

Step 2: Mixing & The "Boil-First" Rule

Crucial: Xanthan is a powerful thickener. To prevent "clumps" that can hide contaminants during sterilization:
* Add your XA-Gel powder to cold distilled water while whisking vigorously.
* Add your nutrients (e.g., LME or Yeast Extract).
* Bring to a rolling boil on a stir plate or stove. The mix will turn from a cloudy suspension into a smooth, viscous liquid.

Pro Tip: Ensure all powder is fully hydrated before it goes into the pressure cooker.

Step 3: Sterilization (The XA-Deep Cycle)
Because XA-Gel is more viscous than regular agar, it holds heat differently.
