Eco Bini™ BAC: Living soil catalyst with permanent carbon habitat for rapid biome establishment.

Build living soil with permanent carbon and active soil biome microbes.

Eco Bini™ Bio-Activated Carbon (BAC) is your living soil catalyst, engineered to rapidly establish a beneficial soil biome. Powered by Sated Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) and Biologically Active Microbes (BAM!) from Continuous Flowthrough Vermicompost reactors, BAC provides a permanent habitat for soil life. Developed at the Sustainability Testing Station (STS), it combines premium SAC with a mature microbial community, creating a stable biological inoculant for soils, compost, vermiculture, and biological waste systems.

Unlike conventional inoculants that just add microbes, BAC offers both the biology and a permanent, high-surface-area carbon habitat. Activated carbon is conditioned in a mature vermicompost ecosystem before controlled air drying, allowing beneficial microorganisms to establish throughout the carbon matrix before packaging.

Key Features & Highlights

  • Full Soil Biome Starter: Introduces diverse beneficial bacteria, fungi, and decomposers.
  • Bio-Activated Carbon (BAC): Premium SAC conditioned in a mature biological ecosystem.
  • Permanent Microbial Habitat: Billions of microscopic attachment sites for lasting biology.
  • Controlled Air Drying: Stable storage while maintaining living microbes.
  • Rapid Expansion: Simply add sugar and dechlorinated water to activate.
  • 100% Organic: Biological conditioning, no synthetic additives.

Activate & Apply for Maximum Benefit:

While BAC can be used dry for direct application, expanding it into an “Expansion Brew” unlocks its full potential and provides greater coverage.

BAC Expansion Brew:

To activate, combine:
1 tablespoon Bio-Activated Carbon (BAC)
1 tablespoon brown sugar or unsulphured molasses
500ml dechlorinated water (<30°C)

Shake or stir until sugar dissolves. Let stand for 15–30 minutes before application. Use the complete mixture (liquid and sediment) for maximum biological material.

Application Methods:

Compost & Garden Beds: Dilute 500ml of the expanded brew into 20L of dechlorinated water (for compost) or 10L (for garden beds/soil drench). Apply thoroughly to each layer or directly to the root zone.
Transplants: For a direct boost, place ¼–½ teaspoon of dry BAC into the planting hole before transplanting.
Worm Farms & Bokashi: Sprinkle a light dusting (worm farms) or add 1–2 tablespoons (Bokashi) of dry BAC directly into layers to reinforce the living biome.
Septic & Drains: Pour 500ml of the expanded brew directly into the system to support biological digestion and odour control.

Important Notes:

  • Store sealed, cool, dry.
  • Use rainwater/dechlorinated water.
  • BAC contains living aerobic/anaerobic microbes – an active biological product. N
  • atural variations in colour, aroma, and texture are expected.

Feed the Biology. Build the Soil.

Why AC?

Why Bio-Activated Carbon (BAC)?

Most microbial inoculants simply add microorganisms to the soil. Once their immediate food supply is exhausted, many of those organisms either decline or disperse throughout the soil profile.

Bio-Activated Carbon (BAC) takes a different approach. Instead of introducing biology alone, it introduces biology already established on a permanent high-surface-area carbon habitat.

Our Sated Granular Activated Carbon (SAC) is first conditioned with calcium to satisfy its natural Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). It is then biologically colonized within a mature living vermicompost ecosystem before being slowly air dried.

The result is a biologically active carbon particle carrying billions of microscopic attachment sites where beneficial microorganisms can establish before application.

Conventional Microbial Inoculant Eco Bini™ BAC
Microorganisms suspended in carrier material Microorganisms established on Sated Activated Carbon
Limited attachment surfaces Extremely high internal carbon surface area
Carrier gradually decomposes Activated carbon remains within the soil
Temporary biological introduction Permanent carbon habitat introduced together with the biology

Rather than simply adding microbes, BAC introduces a complete living soil biome together with the permanent carbon habitat designed to support it.

How BAC is made

The BAC Manufacturing Process

Bio-Activated Carbon is produced through a controlled biological conditioning process developed at the Sustainability Testing Station (STS). Rather than blending ingredients immediately before packaging, each batch is allowed to develop as a living biological ecosystem before controlled drying.

  1. Stage 1 — Sated Activated Carbon (SAC)
Premium macadamia-shell granular activated carbon is conditioned using our proprietary Sating process to satisfy its natural Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) with calcium.
  2. Stage 2 — Biological Conditioning
The SAC is blended into mature, biologically active vermicompost where the living soil community naturally establishes throughout the carbon matrix.
  3. Stage 3 — Controlled Air Drying
The material is slowly air dried to approximately 40–45% moisture content. This reduces metabolic activity while maintaining the living biological community and producing a stable, easy-to-handle inoculant.
  4. Stage 4 — Packaging
BAC is immediately packed into opaque reusable containers that protect the living biology from light while allowing long-term storage under cool, dry conditions.

Living Biology. Permanent Carbon. Complete Soil Biome.
