Coco coir is a phenomenal growing medium—but in its raw or merely “washed” state, it is an active threat to your nutrient solution. Because of its natural Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), untreated coir acts like a sponge for your Calcium and Magnesium, stealing them from your plant and replacing them with harmful salts.
The STS Buffer-Charge uses a laboratory-verified 7:2 dual-salt protocol to reverse this effect, saturating the fibre with the nutrients your plant needs before it even touches the root zone.
-
Engineering-Grade Conditioning: Our proprietary 7:2 ratio of Calcium Nitrate and Magnesium Sulphate aggressively displaces sodium and potassium, permanently conditioning the fibre for high-yield applications.
-
The “Gypsum” Benefit: By utilizing our dry-sprinkle hydration method, you create a microscopic, in-situ precipitate of Calcium Sulphate (Gypsum). This provides a slow-release, long-term reservoir of Calcium and Sulphur for the entire lifecycle of your crop.
-
Zero-Waste Protocol: Forget liquid concentrates that precipitate or expire. Our dry-sachet delivery is shelf-stable, precise, and waste-free.
-
The STS Advantage: Designed at our Gansbaai facility for growers who demand predictable, professional results. Don’t let your substrate “steal” your nutrients—charge it.
Why Use STS Buffer-Charge?
-
Prevents Nutrient Lockout: Stops your coir from “eating” your Calcium/Magnesium.
-
Ensures Uniformity: Guarantees that every 5kg block you hydrate has the exact same chemical profile.
-
Simplified Workflow: No measuring, no mess, no chemistry degree required.
Application Protocol:
-
Place your dry 5kg coco block in a container (Wheelbarrow is recommended).
-
Evenly sprinkle one 50g Buffer-Charge sachet over the dry block.
-
Add 50L of water.
-
Break up block after 2 hours to ensure even distribution and hydration.
-
Wait 36–48 hours for complete cation exchange.
-
Drain and rinse with 20L rainwater.
-
Proceed with your grow.
